About the webinar

Recognising family violence and knowing how to respond are essential skills for practitioners across community, health and family services. This webinar provides a practical foundation for those who are not family violence specialists.

The session explores the forms family violence can take, including coercive control, and how to respond to disclosures in ways that support victim-survivor safety. It also covers obligations under the Victorian framework and referral pathways, helping practitioners understand their role and when to connect clients with specialist support.

What you’ll learn

By completing this webinar, you will be able to:

  • Recognise the forms of family violence, including coercive control
  • Respond safely to a disclosure of family violence
  • Describe your obligations and identify referral pathways in Victoria.

Who should attend

This webinar is suitable for practitioners and support staff who may encounter family violence in their work, including those in counselling, health, education, community services and family dispute resolution.
