About the webinar

Grief is not always the reason a client seeks support, but it can shape the concerns they bring to a session. This webinar provides a practical foundation for practitioners who are not grief specialists.

The session explores how to recognise grief and loss, including losses that do not involve a death, and respond sensitively in the moment. It examines approaches that help, responses that can be unhelpful and when to refer for specialist support. It is the one-hour companion to the Understanding Grief workshop.

What you’ll learn

By completing this webinar, you will be able to:

  • Recognise grief and loss, including non-death losses, when they arise in a session
  • Respond in ways that support clients without rushing the grieving process
  • Identify when to refer clients to specialist grief support.

Who should attend

This webinar is designed for:

  • Counsellors, psychologists and social workers
  • Practitioners in health, community and school wellbeing settings who support clients experiencing grief and loss.
